Product Introduction
Ferrous sulfate is a light green crystalline substance, commonly known as “green alum”. For the decolorization of printing and dyeing wastewater, several methods are usually used, including oxidation decolorization, reduction decolorization, and biological decolorization. However, due to the complex impurities in printing and dyeing wastewater, its chromaticity particles are difficult to treat. Therefore, when purifying, we do not simply use strong oxidants such as bleaching powder for decolorization treatment, but more often use ferrous sulfate and lime for decolorization treatment.
Ferrous sulfate can reduce chromophores to organic small molecules in printing and dyeing wastewater, and has strong adsorption and precipitation effects on gelatinous and suspended dyes in the wastewater, with excellent decolorization effect. In addition, due to its low price, the generated products are not toxic and are very suitable for purifying printing and dyeing water.
Advantage in Printing and Dyeing
1. As a reducing agent: Ferrous sulfate is a strong reducing agent that can reduce hexavalent chromium in chromium containing wastewater from electroplating plants to trivalent chromium, replacing expensive sodium sulfite, sodium bisulfite, sulfur dioxide, etc. The advantage is that it does not produce toxic and carcinogenic irritants such as chlorine (mainly sulfur hydride), and is inexpensive.
2. As a flocculant: Ferrous sulfate is widely used as a flocculant, which has the following advantages: fast settling speed, large sludge particles, small and dense sludge volume, good color removal effect (very suitable for the treatment of textile wastewater such as printing and dyeing, water washing, etc.), non-toxic and beneficial for biological growth.
3. As a biological nutrient: mainly used as an iron nutrient for microorganisms in biochemical systems, it enhances the activity of microorganisms in the system, thereby ensuring and improving the efficiency and stability of the system.
4. As a precipitant, it can form precipitates with sulfides, phosphates, etc., thereby removing sulfides, phosphates, ions, etc., and treating sulfur-containing wastewater from printing and dyeing plants with ferrous sulfate. Ferrous sulfate has good flocculation effect and excellent decolorization ability. It also has functions such as degrading heavy metal ions, removing oil, phosphorus, and sterilizing. Especially for decolorization of printing and dyeing wastewater and ferrite co precipitation of electroplating wastewater, it has obvious effects. Moreover, its price is cheap, making it a well deserved product for the treatment of printing, dyeing, electroplating and other wastewater.
